P.A.C.T. Week

We had a lovely P.A.C.T. week, lots of mums and dads came and joined our P.E lesson in the'Enchanted Garden'. We learned about keeping healthy. We looked at Silly Billy Bear and Sensible Sam Bears lunch boxes. Sam had lots of nutricious food and eats 5 pieces of fruit or vegetables every day. Billy had lots of sugary food which is bad for his teeth. We then had a teddy bears picnic  and ate lots of healthy foods. We looked at keeping healthy fit through exercise and cycled all the way around the big school yard . We also completed an obstacle course and helped to raise lots of money for the school.

Castell Coch

On Monday 11th April we went on a trip to Castell Coch. We enjoyed looking for towers, turrets, the portcullis and a drawbridge.We climbed up lots of spiral staircases - it was such hard work for our little legs but lots of fun!

Reminder: Mothers Day Assembly.

On Thursday 31st March at 9:15, Class 1 (nursery) will happily be performing their Mothers Day assembly. If any parents wish to come along then you're more than welcome! Oh, and make sure you bring a BIG box of tissues!

Cold Winter

We have been learning about winter since we got back from Christmas. We have learnt about wrapping up to keep us warm and have made collages of ourselves to show this. We have listened to the story of the Gruffalo's child and been on a 'Big Bad Mouse' hunt in the garden, following the tracks.

We made cold pictures using a ruler to mark out the paper, painting using white, grey, silver and blue. Finally, we made marks on top - dots, lines, zig-zags and circles using marker pens.

Christmas time!

Christmas - what a busy time of year!! We enjoyed taking part in our Christmas concert 'Sparkle' -we learnt lots of songs, which we sang beautifully on the stage. We have also been busy writing letters to Santa and calenders and tree decarations. We can't wait to bring them home to show our parents.

Room on the Broom

Last Thursday Bigfoot (a drama company) came to vist classes 1,2 and 3. They spent the day working with the boys and girls on drama activities based on the story Room on the Broom. On Friday 2 big coaches arrivied and we went on a trip to the New Theatre in Cardiff. We saw Room to the Broom and there was lots of singing and dancing. We really enjoyed the trip!

Divali Celebrations in Class 1

We have been learning about the Hindu festival of Divali (the festival of light). We enjoyed the story of Rama and Sita and we have been making puppets of them. We used clay to make diva lamps to use in our celebrations. We have made rangoli patterns with powders paints in the playground.
